I have a buddy who has some old (unknown date) blank 5.56 left over from when he got out of the Army. He asked me if I knew what to do with it, as he doesnt have a firearm currently. As I never had this question posed to me, I have no idea what to tell him. Would it be prudent to turn it in to a local PD, maybe a local NG armory, or is there some sort of protocol for getting rid of it? My first thought was that I could shoot it off, but there are over 100 rds-and I really dont feel like cleaning after firing them. Of course, if anyone here is interested in them, I'd be glad to part with it too. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mods, I wasnt sure where to put this-feel free to move it as needed.

I wouldn't turn it in to the PD, they'll just dispose of them. I'm sure there's plenty of people here who'd be willing to take it off your hands and use it for something.
