Hi All, Fished Gate 8 today. Had'nt fished 8 in years so we said why not. It was all fogged in when we arrived this morning, good thing for GPS. When we finally found the fish we could not get them to hit anything. I managed to get one small salmon right before we left. It must have been one of the recently stocked salmon as it was only about 10 or 12 inches long. We decided to hit the shorelines for Smallmouth but most were already off their nests. We came across one Smallmouth on her nest that we estimated to be around 4 1/2 to 5+ lbs. After about 10 minutes I gave up because she wanted nothing to do with the barbed gifts I was trying to offer her. I got some video of her for you guys to see. There was so much pollen on the water that the pictures I took of her are not the best. You can see a stump right next to her nest and by the looks of it I would say she was around 20 or more inches, what a hog.
