I have been eyeing this Ruger SP101 for a while. Today I finally succumbed. It's a .38 special, ported, custom trigger job and chamfered charge holes. I just spent about an hour detail cleaning it. The charge holes, barrel and cylinder face were filthy. I think it's purdy!

Is that a bobbed hammer? Or is it originally DAO?

I've got the 2.25" SP101 DAO with a set of Hogues... the thing is fantastic, even with full house .357's. Not super accurate, but enough to hit where I'm aiming up to 50 ft or so.

I like the metal finish on yours, nice and polished. Mine from the factory is pretty rough. My pic is not the best.

Do you know who did the custom work?

I have no idea who did the work, but I am trying to find out. It was a consignment gun and I can find out who was selling it. I was told that the original owner spent a bit of money on it. The hammer is a true DAO so I doubt it was bobbed, but it may have just been re-worked.
