There are two NRA Personal Protection Instructor courses being offered at Pelham Fish & Game.

The first is Personal Protection in the Home. This is a one day course scheduled for Saturday, July 30. Instructor candidates must already be certified as NRA Basic Pistol Instructors. Cost is $150.

The second is Personal Protection Outside the Home. Instructor candidates must be certified as NRA Basic Pistol and Personal Protection in the Home Instructors, and complete the two-day Personal Protection Outside the Home course. The PPOTH course is being offered on Saturday/Sunday, November 4/5. Those interested in taking this course need not take the instructor course or satisfy the prerequisites for the instructor course. Those not looking to become instructors can either take the Saturday class by itself for $125, or both days for $250. The instructor course will take place on Saturday/Sunday, November 12/13 and costs $200.

I'll post additional information shortly, including required gear for each course. Round count for the PPITH Instructor course is 100 rounds minimum; for the PPOTH Instructor course it's a little over 200 rounds. For the PPOTH course itself, students will need a minimum of 100 rounds each day. Students in all courses will need to bring their own semi-auto pistol (9mm or larger, at least 2 magazines) or revolver (.38 or larger), eye and ear protection. Knee pads are recommended, but not required. For all PPOTH courses, students and instructor candidates will also need to bring a strong-side carry holster, magazine or speed loader/strip pouch and concealment garment.

Enrollment is at NRAInstructors.org.
