This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.
Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting Packet and upon completion a student examination, receive a course completion NRA and Mass State Police BFS Certificate.
Includes ammunition and use of firearms; coffee, refreshments & lunch; and eye and hearing protection. Live fire includes 22 cal, 380 cal, 38 cal, 9mm and 45ACP handguns.
Course meets requirements for LTC license/permit in MA (LTC-002), ME,CT and FL. Mass State Police BFS and NRA certificate provided upon completion. Course fee $100.00/$80.00 for PF&G members.
