I live in NH now and own a AR-15, I have to move to MA for a year and switch my drivers license over. I'm going to be leave my gun with a family member in NH since its illegal in MA.

My question is, if I come up to NH for the weekend can I still use my gun? Do I need a permit? or would NH police look at me as a MA resident with a gun that's illegal in MA?

Thanks

No problem. NH requires no permits to own anything or shoot it.

If you are merely attending college in MA for the year, you don't need to change your DL. There is a process wrt having a car in MA for non-MA students (check massrmv.com)

This seems to be the form you need to fill out:

Thank you, but the program I'm attending is requiring me to get a MA license so I can my CDL license there, guessing I will still be fine to own my gun as long as it stays in NH?
