nicks on brass

I've been saving up my 45 brass for future reloading. I've noticed that a good quantity of the brass ends up with a good sized nick on the side.

You can't really see it well in the picture but the metal around it is pushed in a bit too. Is this something to worry about with reloading? I'm not sure if this is typical damage or not.

Nothing to worry about. Thats from hitting some place on the ejection port.

If you look closely at your gun, you should see the exact spot as there should be brass deposits there. As long as your gun is ejecting ok, I'd leave well enough alone.

I get little dents in about the same spot on all my brass. It's how I know it's my brass .
