This poor woman needed more than a piece of paper to protect herself.

Chester, Conn. (WTNH) - State Police are investigating the stabbing death of a Chester woman, allegedly at the hands of her estranged husband.

Police were called to Bailey Road around 7pm. The victim called police and said her husband was forcing his way into the home and that she had a protective order in place. While she was on the phone with the 9-1-1 operator the phone suddenly went dead.

When police arrived on scene they found the woman with multiple stab wounds. She was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect was spotted on Route 9 near Exit 2 and taken into custody.

No names have been released. We don't know if the couple had any children.

So that piece of paper wasn't strong enough to deflect a knife blade? Say it isn't so! Another tragedy that may have been prevented. [sad2]

Yeah, one of my wifes very best friends suffered the same unfortunate fate. That bastard even did it right in front of their kids. Guess what? They pleaded him out so he only got 30 years instead of life without parole. So he can be free in about 18 years with good behavior and time served in CT (they have some rule that for ever day you serve while waiting for trial, it counts for three). So he will be out in time to kill again.
