My S&W is falling apart

The decocker on my trusty model 39 broke in half and fell on the ground at the range yesterday. Its headed back to S&W for some TLC but the gun bag is going to be sadly light for a while. Don't you hate it when parts fail after only 40-50 years?

Smith Wesson auto's are very underrated by some people. I think SW make some of the best auto's out there. You will get it back in no time and will last another 40 or 50 years.

LOL...Sorry to hear about your woes, but you drew me in for sure...I thought it was going to be a horror story about a .45 ACP M&P which I want soooo badly...Hope your baby comes home shiny and new...

I love my 6909, even though it's kind of a pain to field strip and the rails need to be oiled every 10 minutes.

I really need to look into getting another 9mm to save wear and tear on this old gun. I might take a look at some of the newer smiths to see how they compare.

I recently bought a 3914 and like the fit and finish of it. It's used, but very well maintained. I hope to be able to take it to the range this weekend.
