Metrowest Tactical's April 22, 2017 match will be the new IDPA classifier, as well as 3 optional side stages. Registration starts at 9am (probably at outdoor Pit 1). First shots at 10am. MD Classifier: Alan V. MD Side Match: Darren L.
The new 2017 IDPA classifier consists of three stages of 24 rounds each (72 total rounds). I have attached the Classifier Rules, stage descriptions, classifier layout, and scoring. For those shooting semi-auto (besides BUG), please be aware of new rule 9.3:
The classification attained by shooting the Classifier in any semi-automatic pistol division must be applied to all other semi-automatic pistol divisions. For example, if an SSP shooter receives an Expert classification, they are then also classified as Expert in CCP, ESP, and CDP.
The 3 optional side stages will be in a 2-gun format, where competitors will start with a pick-up firearm (AR, Shotgun, and .22 rifle), and then transition to their own pistol to finish each stage. Each side stage will consist of 5-10 rounds from the pick-up gun, and then 14-18 rounds from your own handgun. We will provide the pick-up guns and pick-up gun ammunition, and you will use your own ammunition for the handgun portions. You will get a reshoot in the event of a pick-up gun malfunction, but not for a malfunction with your own firearm.
We plan to have one pit dedicated for the IDPA classifier, which will be used for shooters who only want to shoot the classifier and not the 3 optional side stages.
Shooters who want to shoot both the classifier and side stages will be squadded like in a normal club match and will rotate through 6 different pits: 3 classifier pits (each running one of the 3 classifier stages) and the 3 side stage pits.
The cost for just the classifier is $25. The cost for the classifier plus side stages is $30 (to cover the cost of the pick-up gun ammunition).
At this time, we only plan to post the classifier scores to the IDPA website. Scores for the side stages will only be posted only to the metrowesttactical.com website.
