I just bought a MDM Buck Wacka in .50 cal for the muzzleloader season. You crack it open to insert the 209 Primer. Is this the "breakopen" that is not allowed during MA blackpowder season? I'm using it for shotgun season.

What kind of generic grease/oil can you put on the threads of the primer plug?

that is infact a break open that is only allowed during the shotgun season. Choke tube grease is the best thing for the breech plug. it comes in a glue stick style tube and is easy to use without getting all over your hands.

Trust me i hear ya i picked up a break action cva before fully understanding the rediculous black powder laws in Ma as well
