Mars model 115, what exactly is it?

Ive had this for quite some time, Ive read where it was a training rifle, an air rifle, a 22, I am curious if it was meant to actually shoot and how? Is it considered a rifle?

Google says it's a training rifle for the K98, shoots a 4.4mm pellet. Here's a link to the k98forum and a thread on them. That's all I know, I stopped reading after the 2nd site I went to cuz I don't have one and my curiosity has been scratched. neat history lesson though

Air rifle. 4mm. Hitler Youth trainer. Not exceedingly rare. $200-$300. Late 30s to mid 40s.

Sadly that ones pretty rough shape. Action is like a daisy RedRyder spring plunger style. Growing up kid on the street had the carbine version. When he ran out of lead pellets it vanished. I seen a few here and there over my short pellet gun "collecting" they are neat for sure.
