Maine and snowmobiling

Hello everyone. I own 2 Snowmobiles that I bring to nh often. They were bought and are registered in nh, and I'm a member of a nh Snowmobile club. My families house is right on the Maine border but in nh. I plan on using the sleds, and may venture into maine knowingly or unknowingly. Do I need to register them in Maine as well. Any other sled enthusiasts out there with info?

Yes you need to register in Maine if you operate in Maine.
One exception is the last weekend in January (approved year to year).

Another exception is a stretch of ITS 19 between Chatham and Shelburne, registrations from either state are valid for that specific stretch of trail. (through Evans Notch)
