Sunday Oct 8th the gun club that I belong to in Enfield NH held a machine gun shoot to help raise money for the club. This is the 4th one they have done, it was for members and their guests. I am the one the provided the machine guns for the shoot. I had 33 guns total, 25 Machine guns and 8 other misc NFA guns. If you Click Here you can see what was available to shoot. A good time was had by all, some of the guns where being picky and not wanting to shoot all the time. Only had really only one gun that kind of broke an AK-47, it still worked but the top cover broke. The other AK-47 we believe did catch the handguard on fire or was smoldering, it was smoking pretty good and smelled like burning wood. The scope mount on the SBR Mosin came lose, guess I need some blue or red Loctite on the screws. Had a bad round of ammo in the FAL that blew out the primer and blew up the magazine. Kind of scary when that happens. We let it sit for a while and put a couple of mags through it and it ran fine. I only got burned a couple of time by hot barrels and on one cut on my hands from something, must not have been to bad because I don't remember when I getting cut.

Here's some pictures and video's of the fun,

Mosin Nagant scope mount not quite right

AK-47 Dust cover. Looks like the serial number stamping was so deep it made the metal really thin and couldn't handle the repeated fire.

The other AK-47's handguard, it got a little hot and toasty and was smoking pretty good

I'm surprised at how many were shooting without any eye protection.

usually when it happens it means that barrel is a goner now, as it was overheated and will never be too accurate again, well, if it ever was. :)
just hope it was some chinese crap and not an original/authentic tula.

Nice. I did the. . . . Hanson one a billion years ago. It was POURING rain. I mean, buckets. That meant no one wanted to leave the covering to go talk to a vendor or go to the line. I wandered over, paid my reasonable amount of $ and shot an MP5, a G18 and some sort of belt-fed. Belt fed was a low tripod, on the ground, prone, soaking wet. Totally worth it. LOL

I must have shot a Thompson as well - I recall being shocked at how back-heavy they are. This had to be 20 years ago. I think the whole thing started at 9am, we got there at 8:30 and were out by 9:20. ROFL!!!

$15 tor a box of pmc .223 huh...
bring your own ammo was perfectly acceptable and encouraged. I brought 20 ar mags loaded among others and ammo for mag patterns I didn't happen to own so I wouldn't be wasting time loading magazines while there.
the seller needs to account for their time and travel as well as the inherent supply and demand that the situation presents. in my opinion nothing was overpriced or gouging. And a portion of money spent at the event was in support of the Enfield Outing Club. A-OK in my book.[thumbsup]

thanks again Kingson! had a great time. Even joined the club so I am in the know about things like this going forward.

joining was very reasonable at $60 a year. While I live almost 2 and a half hour away and won't be using this as my go to club, it is nice to know it is available, and that they host events like this periodically.
cheers! hope to see you at the next one.

Here are some more cool pics from the shoot. One of the members set up a couple of cameras on the firing line and good some good pictures, he said he got about 230 usable pictures.

Glad you had a good time, most likely there will be another one in May of 2024

Boy I miss the Hanson shoot.... I was a member back then and I didn't even have an LTC lol. You sure did burn through your cash fast, even back in those days ha ha. MG42 was my favorite but the HK 51B was a very close second.... then the MP5.... MG34.... PPSh 41... and on and on and on... *sigh*

Inspired me to dig into my photo archives, these would be 2002/2003...

They are fun. I thought they would beat you up when firing but they are pretty pleasant to shoot. The only thing is they will climb up and to the right quickly if you don't pay attention on a mag dump or an extended burst.
It’s heavy… but definitely has a bunch of rise if you squeeze the trigger down..

It reminds me of my HK battle rifle
