I'm up for renewal in a few months and am thinking about letting my C&R expire. Is there anything special I need to do (send a letter, notify some other way, etc...)?

Searching the C&R mega-thread wasn't really fruitful... feel free to point me to post there if you have better luck searching.

Why, why? mine has paid for itself many time over. If your going to use the whole MidwayUSA "dealer" pricing argument, then go to Brownells. If your saying that it isn't worth the $35 bucks (or whatever it is) because your facing an economic hardship, ok, that's one thing. Keep it, I see the reason growing by th day.

As far as I've read, you just let it expire. You can dispose of your bound book as you see fit once your 03FFL is expired.

Sadly MidwayUSA isn't doing their dealer pricing as of this year.

Legend has (had?) it that once you're registered as a dealer they don't remove dealer status, unless you ask... for the last few years the Brownells discount has been better (and where it wasn't the lower shipping costs made up the difference).
