In 3 days, a little old grandma could pedal a bike 100 miles, easily well past the damage/threat zone. Only morons got caught up in that "disaster". If I lived on a flood plain, in hurricane or earthquake prone area, there'd be no "home' but a little pull trailer, and I'd be LONG gone with just 1 hour of advance notice, believe that much. I can always come back, or just live somewhere else. Why should I pay more for insurance, take such risks, when as good or better a life can be had in less risky places? Life has enough UNAVOIDABLE risks, so why take on any extra ones?
