Just ordered the three ARRL books (tech, general, and extra)

Pretty exciting. I am going to get the tests online as was suggested but I want to learn how it all works and figure the books will be a good resource to actually understanding some stuff.

Thanks fellas, we'll have to have some late night study sessions, lol.

For now, my "shack" consists of one scanner (a Radio Shack) pro-97 scanner. I don't seem to get much on it but I hope to get an antenna this week to see if I can listed to HAM transmissions.

Good luck AppleSeeds. You are taking just the right approach. Make getting your ticket the 1st priority. That means learing the correct answers to the question pool. The theory will come along later, especially now that you have the books. I just got my ticket a month ago and I now consider myself to have a 'license to learn'. This is a great hobby. There's always something new to learn or do!
