Anybody have this experience with a .22 ?? Was with my Sig 229 and .22 conversion kit. First round normal bang, second round bang ! WTF, splattered in the face with little stinging pieces of brass..... Thank god for safety glasses.... All ok, no blood drawn..... Im thinking out of battery discharge.....
Thoughts ??

Yeah, looks like it could have been a little OOB. It's blowback, so I guess it could have been overprimed, too, but I had one of those Sig 229 conversions and it wouldn't reliably go into battery. At one point in the break-in process I thankfully realized it wasn't completely in battery, and cleared it. I then put in a little aluminum snap cap and let it close. It was slightly OOB, and the thing would still drop the hammer and hit the rim. Had to tap the back of slide to get it to go fully in. No idea how many I fired slightly OOB before that. Had a Sig armorer look it over (they removed several burrs) before it would reliably go all the way into battery.

I've had that happen a couple of times in my AR dedicated upper. Quite energetic. ☺

had that happen with a 30 carbine round last year, glad you're ok hope the gun is as well.

my issue seemed to be headspace, it was a 1942 underwood barrel, I've since had a new criterion barrel put on it. hope you find your issue and please keep us updates, more info is always good for the collective brain trust that is NES
