Ian McCollum has begun writing his second book, this one about Chinese handguns made during the "Warlord Period" before the CCP won the Chinese Civil War in 1947.

 
How do communist warlord guns from 1940 still manage to look better than a high point

Much like the rich today, who spend stupidly large amounts of money on things they things will impress people, the Warlords valued image over quality. So even the nonfunctional junk turned out by their shops were made to look like the best European FNs, Mausers, etc. Same way you can buy a Chinese made SUV that looks exactly like a BMW today.
 
Already preordered. Didn't even see the video had dropped though. Got the email from the previous two.
Have actually used the French book a pretty fair amount already. The British book is mostly out of touch with the firearms covered and mostly for interest.
This might also serve an interesting purpose because I've surprisingly run across a number of Chinese guns like these over time.
