Thank you everyone for coming out, being utterly well behaved and I HOPE had fun. Seriously - if you fill for any reason you didn't get your monies worth, tell us. I'm not saying I can give you your money back (because I can't) but we'll find a way to make it right.
THANK YOU TO THE CLUB. A lot of the Board of Directors came to help out. The club president voulenteered to cook when our regular KItchen Queen (Mary) had to go to work and actually pay bills.
Thank you to the VOLUNTEERS to helped out. Especially to a NES member who's name escapes me but he and is lovely girlfriend Pam straight up asked to come help, showed up and didn't complain a whit when we rode them like rented mules. THANK YOU. (Please drop me a PM so I can add your names to this post). EVERYONE WHO HELPED TODAY WAS A VOLUNTEER. Some were club members, some just did it because they are awesome and wanted to help Joe and I. Dan the RO and his girlfriend who sent everyone off for the second heats for example. They just same and helped because Joe asked them to.
THANK YOU to ACME ARMAMENT (Adam and Nicole). Adam had an "incident" the other day and couldn't come. He and Nicole OFFERED UP, FOR FREE, several loaner shotguns. When they told us they couldn't make it they arranged for the guns to show up (thank you Peter). Check out Acme in Londonderry when they open. On top of all this.. they LEGITIMATELY won the Karma, and when they won instead of taking their money back as they were entitled to do, they asked us to donate it. Adam and Nicole are truly supporters.
A couple complaints:
1) Some dumbasses used AP rounds and destroyed one of the 100y targets. I am confident it was an accident... but it happened. So yeah... Joe and I are on the hook for this. Just saying.
2) There was a serious safety violation. That person was willing to step up and admit what happened. The ROs chose to allow the team to continue running despite the incident. It was absolutely an accident.. but.. my point is not to make this person feel worse, but to help remind everyone please be careful. No one got hurt, but it could have been bad.
Enough whining.. here are the results for the money round. Several teams had to bail or were otherwise unable to run a second time.
Winners: Bacon and Eggs. 15 minutes. Shoot me a PM, we have some prizes for you. These guys were studs and even used he sled as I intended. It was awesome to see. There will be some video eventually.
Second: Spray and pray. Marked as 16 minutes, but they were only a few, maybe 20 seconds behind. These guys had a laser beam first run and a couple problems on the second. Mike, one of the teammates, made a 3rd run too. These two goons also won the first HD. They are getting handicapped next time.
3rd (tie): Low Speed High Drag and Tiger Blood. 17 minutes
4th: Sshh be very qwiet 18 minutes.
5th (tie): Time 2A! and John and Ringo. 19 minutes.
6th: One Hit Wonder. 20 minutes
7th: Dominican DY-NO-MITE. 24 minutes
8th: Team Power Bottom (it's a tough call as to who was the.. uuhh.. woman). 25 min
9th: MURICA! 28 minutes. Since team MURICA can only ever actually come in first, we'll assume they placed here to help others feel good about themselves. Thank you guys for that.
10th: Team Squiggly. 31 minutes More importantly they did not get lost at any point during the race. 1 of 2 father son teams.
Tied with Short Bus Ninjas
11th: Wildly Inaccurate. 32 min. Hey.. they could have been worse!
12th: Entropy. 33 minutes. Last, but not least.
I'll post up the results from the first run when I have a moment.
LAST THING.
Have any comments? Complaints? Suggestions. PM or post up. We ran shotguns this time because people wanted Shotguns. We ran trap because people asked for trap. We upped the round count because people wanted more trigger time. What do you want? What do you want that doesn't include me talking less? We are aware we f*up a couple things, had some target failures and some stacking of teams issues.. sorry, really. In our defense, it's a shit ton of work and doing it in the snow made it more difficult to a degree that wasn't expected. Hopefully everyone feels they got their monies worth. If you don't think you did, now is a good time to speak up.
