Gunman Dead After 2 Shot Inside Omaha High School

DEVELOPING: Police say a gunman who opened fire inside an Omaha, Neb., high school on Wednesday is dead, omaha.com reports.

Two male victims were reportedly shot -- one critically -- at Millard South High School. It was not immediately known who the adults were and what their conditions are at hospitals. One was taken by helicopter from the scene.

Robert (shooter) was the son of Omaha Police Det. Robert Butler and attended Lincoln Southwest High School last year. A person familiar with the investigation said it is believed Robert used his father's Glock.

He even posted volatile comments on FB? Where are all the school threat intervention teams? Maybe if the school spent more time monitoring the internet this could have been avoided....

But of course, if these two school administrators were allowed to carry guns, nothing would be different. They would have just 'gotten confused and shot each other', then they would have been 'mistaken for the gunman' by responding police. After all, they're only civilians. They're not trained or competent.

It says something here that the shooter wasn't pinned into a classroom by police and apparently didn't feel that law enforcement was an impending threat. He took his time to leave the building before killing himself...seems like a lot more damage could have been done.
