I personally find the "move out of MA"argument despicable and frighteningly shortsighted. The only thing I find lower on that totem pole are the people who agree with those statements.

Speak up and fight the good fight instead of abandoning ship. Live and uphold that constitution, damnit!

I see your point, but DAMN, it is tempting to jump ship.
You look around and see just how bad it is and it gets frustrating.
Kinda feels like swimming up a fast moving river.(are ya listening Dwarven?)[smile]
My state rep. (Agustus) is retiring, and he was OK, I don't know who
might try to get in yet, but bet your butt I'll be watching.

How are you "upholding that constitution" when you have to get permission from the police chief to own any firearm?? when you can only own regular capacity magazines that are 13+ years old? etc

The sad truth is that residents of Massachusetts are denied their Constitutional rights.

I hope that the Supreme Court rules not only that the second amendment is an individual right but also that it is incorporated (applied to the states through the due process clause of the second amendment), if that happens then Massachusetts has a chance.

I don't- I find it pragmatic and reasonable, actually. Life is too short to live under authoritarian socialism, especially if one has the opportunity/desire to "opt out" of that problem. Why submit to the abuse if you don't have to? (For starters, think about the MA residents that are stuck in B-rammer or restricted license towns... and think about how they feel- and how their rights are effectively denied by the thugs in their local government. )

Now, on the other hand... I can see why people stay here- they have overriding factors in that decision- family, jobs, house etc... all are completely understandable and reasonable. There are many of us, myself included, who stay because we have other things going on in our lives other than just gun ownership.

Sans any other obligations, though, why would I submit myself to being abused by the government?

Edit: Even in OUR OWN nation's history, emigration was used as a means of escaping tyranny! Does one think the founders
would have been as successful, waging war in England/Europe?

Staying in MA to "fight" isn't much different than a guy hanging around on the titanic with a small bucket to try to bail out the ship after it hit an iceberg, while the ship is already completely underwater. [laugh] There is value in addressing the issues if one IS here, but I don't really see the point of staying around MA just for the sake of doing that at the expense of an insane amount of personal liberty. This state is so bad even after an episode of armed insurrection it would likely end up reverting to its previous abysmal state after a few election cycles. I'm beginning to think the bulk of the voting block is almost as corrupt as the politicos it often elects- which appears to be the root of the problems in MA.

Speaking up? Are you kidding? We are totally outnumbered by the anti`s and the moonbats.
Things can only get worse in Mass. for our kind.
We are at war with a vicious enemy that has no problem killing women, children and handicapped innocent civilians and our citizens are crying because we waterboarded a few terrorists. They question our right to carry a firearm to protect ourselves and act like we`re the enemy.
Massachusetts is a lost cause. The state is dominated by super liberal Democrats that want to turn us into the ultimate nanny state. We have no Representation.
On a more positive note I was driving thru Concord, Ma. center last night and there was a good size box truck parked right in front of the Colonial Inn with Jim Beatty`s picture on it. He is is the former Delta operator that is challenging Kerry for his seat. Quite the ad.
HOOAH!

Just to be devil's advocate...

are totally outnumbered by the anti`s and the moonbats...and in a democratic society, doesn't majority-votes, wins ?

Yes... but...

In a democratic society, in order to cause change, one has to vote.

If everyone who supports the 2a turns around and bolts out of MA... we'll always be the minority in the state.
