Folks, this is what separates MA from CT.

Imagine a court in MA telling a local issuing authority that their understanding of the law was wrong and ordering them to issue a permit on the spot.

The BFPE continues to be the primary guardian of the people's firearms rights. If it weren't for them things would be much worse. They are independent and answer to nobody. There was an attempt for "efficiency" reasons to roll them into the DPS a couple of years ago. Fortunately we beat back that "reform".
