Having posted about my "oddball" restocked RIA/Springfield finished M'03, I had the facts in mind today when I found another version.
My version is a numbered, but unissued RIA receiver completed by Springfield in 8/31. This one is similar, but had an RIA receiver with a 1/38 barrel and a 1.2M serial number (RIA went to 440K). The receiver was marked RIA, but was unserialed by RIA. The unnumbered receiver was slipped into the 1938 Springfield M'03 run and serialed by Springfield. Cool. Nice rearsenaled condition, worth close to the high $850 asking price. Didn't look too close as we are in the middle of adopting a 10 year old boy, and my wife would do something unprintable to me. Anyone interested in a rare '03, PM me, and I'll tell you where.
