I've found that the wealth of knowledge on NES extends past guns, so I have a question about fishing.

I'm relatively new to the area, and I'd like to do some fishing. I want to do some surf fishing or some pier fishing, so saltwater. Where can one go in eastern Mass, or eastern NH I suppose, for some good fishing?

I'm up for fishing most anything, but some bass or some bluefish would be good. Maybe some drum, if they make it up this far.

If anyone has some tips (specifics are more than welcome), please do share them.

Cape Ann has great surf fishing. Still early though schoolies should be here in next couple of weeks if we can get some sun.

The Candy Shop off 128; Train Bridge on the Annisquam; and Essex River are good early spots. Plum Island is the Surf Fishing Mecca.

Talk to local tackle shops Winchesters in Gloucester; Fin and Feather in Essex; Surfland in Plum Island...they will have good info on what's happening.

In season Good Harbor Beach; Pebble Beach; Long Beach; are all good.

Good luck!
