A Hong Kong company has been making and selling imitations of the CAT tourniquet from North American Rescue Products.
The plastic on the buckle and windlass is substandard and will break if used.
All genuine CAT Tourniquets have an expiration date stamped on them and the running end of the nylon is "welded." It is smooth with a series of dots and the stitching will be perfect.
The imitations have poor stitching, frayed nylon and flimsy plastic.
I have a 40 page PDF on how to recognize imitation tourniquets. Please email me if you'ld like a copy.
