Early K98 RC

I found this one the other day for $560. It is a 1935 Oberndorf K98 that was captured by the Russians and rebuilt. Normally I’m not a fan of Russian captures but the early date enticed me to buy it. Barrel and front sight match other parts are mixed

Has a very nice overall look. Just a quick coat of BLO/Tung oil and remove the white lettering if possible.

Has the shellac been removed from the wood? How do the stock markings look?
I'm not a fan of Tung oil.

No shellac on the wood, stock has a different Russian number on it but is prewar

Very nice. Motivated me to start poking around on GB for a first Mauser last night. Just window shopping. Hope it shoots well.
