I've noticed a few people here who have MOLON LABE in their sigs. I myself have a hat with that logo.
(BTW, the current issue of MILITARY HISTORY magazine has an interesting article on Thermopylae. Turns out that 700 Theban soldiers also refused to retreat, and died to a man along side the Spartans, tho almost no one today remembers this.)
Anyway, I recently ran across another phrase that probably should be spread around just as widely.
Apparently, there is only ONE surviving battle color from the American Revolution. A regiment of Pennsylvania Riflemen that was raised right after Lexington/Concord and marched off to the seige of Boston. They eventually became the 1st Continental Regiment, and served until the end of the war.
The motto they chose for their standard was Domari Nolo, which translates as: "I refuse to be subjugated!"
I may need to get another hat . . .
