took the NRA basic pistol permit class a little over a year ago (1/29/2009 IIRC). I am now looking to finally apply for temporary permit in Greenwich which would then allow me a state-issued permit. Does the NRA pistol expire, or can I still use the one I got in January of 09?

the cert does not expire, but your licensing authority may have rules as to how recent the class must be..

+1

Not just "rules" to how recent the class must but, but it is at the "discretion" of the chief licensing offer/angency, and is frankly stupid and not necessary.

EDIT: Thanks to "buketduder" I just realized this was in the CT laws section. My Fail.

Police Chiefs have very LITTLE discretion in CT when issuing Permits...you should have no problem..They cannot ask for ANYTHING more then what it is on the State App..and far as your Cert..I don't see why it would be an issue..I know people who waited longer then that..
