I just got these pictures sent to me in an email. I am not sure if these are old or if they have been posted before.

The Email Read:

S&W .44 Mag Accident
A guy came into a police department the other day to ask a favor.
He had a S&W 629 (.44 Mag.) that he wanted to dispose of after a mishap at the range.
He said there was a loud bang when he tested his new load and the gun smacked him in the forehead, leaving a nice gash.
When the tweedy birds cleared, this is what he saw...

I've seen these before. We had a similar instance at my gun club where The shooters friend was loading him ammo for his 44 magnum. His friend liked to "load em hot". To make a long story short he fired a round and the top of the revolver went. The shooter wasn't injured and was lucky since each lane in bulletproof, but he had his handgun forward of the dividers. I don't think anybody ever opened the walls to get the cylinder parts.

Likely a double charge or incorrect charge of fast powder. I don't think you could load enough 296 or H110 into the case to blow the gun up.
