A home invasion in Butte County ends with the suspect in the hospital, after the homeowner shot the intruder. Investigators say the intruder made sexually suggestive comments and lunged at the homeowner's wife.

The incident happened Thursday night around 9pm at a home on Oro Quincy Highway in Berry Creek.

Investigators say 35 year old Todd Levett kicked in the front door of his landlord's home and threatened the husband and wife.....

There are parts of California that are over run by hoplophobic moonbats. Then there are the other, more civilized parts, where people attempt to violate others' persons or property at their own peril. Unfortunately it's the first parts that pass the laws and elect people like Pelosi, Feinstein, Wilkerson, Waxman and Boxer.

Depends on what he's running with. Could be full o' birdshot and he might have hit mostly floor.

If that is the case, he definitely did it wrong.

People who load birdshot for self defense are idiots, unless they expect to be attacked by quail or pheasants.

Or he hunts birds and that's what he laid hands on. I'll give him props for Cheneying the guy, but he fails the rest. He's lucky his attacker wasn't highly motivated.

Even #9 shot at close range will take you apart. Don't believe me...try taking a shot at a 2x6 at a distance of about 6 feet. Probably just hit the guy with the scatter off the walls or floor. If the guy was going for his wife he probably was trying to fire a warning shot to scare the guy off and the guy got hit with mostly indirect stuff. Just wonder how he avoided hitting the wife in that close of quarters...unless...nah...he probably loved her, right?

Harry Whittington, Rodney King, and the Boston SPO who took a torso full of birdshot at point blank range all had different experiences than a 2x6. [wink] Birdshot works better than the clackety-clack sound, but birdshot only outperforms blank/flare/OC shells.
