At my local club, the Franklin County League of Sportsmen in Deerfield, MA, Bruce Gray and Jerry Jones of Gray Guns, Inc, are instructing a few classes in May. It is posted on the Sig Forum now, but I figured some members here would probably be interested, too. I just want to make it clear that I have absolutely no financial interest in this class at all. I'm posting it here for the good of NE Shooters members, nothing more.

I took a Practical Fundamentals class with Bruce earlier this year, and he's truely an amazing instructor. He took a class mixed with everything from advanced to beginner shooters in that class, and nobody was left behind or held back. These courses being held in May are for advanced shooters, as noted in the course description. If you have any questions about the course, please follow this thread and contact the original poster here: http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/451105858/m/6971007731

Also, for any of you outside of MA, I'll post the MGL chapter and sections showing it's completely legal for you to bring your firearms into MA for this class. There will be a "competition", shooting for score, to satisfy the "competition" requirement for non-residents possessing handguns in MA. Just make sure you keep them in a locked case at all times when not attending the class. Look at the end of the thread. I'll post them there. I hope to see some of you there. If you are local and are a member of the club, there is no range fee for the class.

Dates: May 2009 May 1 – Friday – Carbine (Note: This can be taken as a standalone course)
May 2 & 3 – Saturday/Sunday – Advanced Pistol: both Gun Handling & Close Quarter Defensive Pistol Note: – This will be a modulized course utilizing two bays where participants will have some latitude in the content they participate in.

Zeroing
Shooting Positions
Carbine Fundamentals

Advanced Pistol:
Overview Note: For intermediate shooters or competitors and above. This is planned as an extremely fast paced class and is intended as a follow-on to Grayguns’ previous visit to Western Massachusetts.

Advanced Pistol: Gun Handling Modules

These modules are being taught by Grand Master IPSC competitor and world-class gunsmith, Mr. Bruce Gray. This intermediate level class will expand upon the skills introduced in the Practical Fundamentals Course. Key elements of the curriculum will review and reinforce fundamental skills and core techniques as well as introduce proven training drills to maximize marksmanship and develop the proficiencies critical for fast and accurate shooting. Advanced Pistol: Close Quarter Defensive Pistol Modules The CQDP modules are scheduled to be taught by GGI Senior Staff Instructor Jerry Jones. Just like the title of the module reads, these modules are intended to develop and/or reinforce course participants close quarter defensive pistol skills. This is, as described by Bruce, the "finished product" class with very little lecture and a lot of hull burning.
