Well, I couldn't. Having just got the P1, I found this matched, no-letter-block, shooter grade, early AC44 P38 full rig last night on the K98k forum. I have funds from having just sold three pieces last week for that elusive bSw that I never seem to be able to find. I had been looking for a byf, but I couldn't let this one go for the price.

I'm especially partial to the faded glue/gray style of original patina on this piece.

Nice! I've been looking a P1/P38 models for a bit looking for the "right" one. I'm pretty sure one is in my future very soon! Good pick up.

Cool! I have a byr ( I think, if I remember ) with sort of a two tone finish. The frame is a plum color.

byf - made by Mauser, Obendorf. That's the last one I need. I was just scouting prices on GB for one - probably a byf44 so all my pieces are 1944. There was not one for less than $200 more than I paid for a full rig.
