Just a random sample of what warms your heart.

Hmmm...

Enfield No 5 Mk I
Vz58
Webley Mk IV
Brazil-contract S&W M37
Inglis Mk1* BHP clone

I chose to make this as difficult as possible. If the Government were to step in and say each person could own no more than five firearms; antique, curio, carry/self-defense, and hunting notwithstanding.

I picked from a total of 30:

1. 1863 M63 Springfield .58 rifle musket, Sam Norris and William Clement contract for Massachusetts,
1 of 2,000
2. 1943 National Postal Meter M1 Carbine, ex-Ethiopian, best shooting carbine I've ever owned
3. 1939 Walther PPk, reliable, accurate
4. 1937 Colt Detective .38 Special, carried a revolver as a Fed.
5. DOT44 Mauser K98k, my first rifle

Honorable mention, my 1910 Colt M08 .25 which sees a lot of carry time. Went with a little more power.

Although if it was was the zombie apocalypse that hit tomorrow, I’d be out the door with the 1917 M1911 Colt 45.

I would reconsider your first picks and go with 1911 .45. I have been in a zombie apocalypse with the carbine and it just makes a handy club.
The Zombies just keep coming or going as the case might be. Just my .02 from my wasted youth.
