So I have taken the NRA Basic Pistol and Home Firearm Safety course, I've seen stuff about the Mass State Police course being needed to teach courses in MA.
I assume this is mandatory and I wouldn't be able to hand out certificates "legally" without it?

I'm pretty sure you just need the state certification. Check Rick's email for the form to submit to MSP [wink]

You have it wrong. You just need to fill out a form, send a check for $50 and a copy of your NRA Instructor certification to MSP to get certified to teach and hand out the MSP certificates. The courses you can teach and what (very little) MGL must be covered can all be found in 515 CMR 3.00 and the state website (I believe the updated list of courses is maintained there).
