Another nice antique shop find........Ammo Can......

I posted not to long ago some pics of a couple vintage WWII ammo cans i found in an antique shop. Well today i found their big brother, A .50 cal. can in very nice shape for its age.....Here's some pics.......And, never saw one that opened on the long side......

Nice can but it looks like it's missing the lid gasket.

I've got one of those side opening cans. Got it long ago when I was just a kid, I painted it bright red, what did I know I was just a kid. It's carried everything from fishing tackle to tools, and now, well, ammo. I never thought of it as a vintage wwII ammo can, it was just that box I had left from my younger days.

Nice can but the font is wrong and the closure wire is the correct diameter for .30 cal, not .50 cal. A well done reproduction.

Just kidding (and making fun of nit pickers). That's a cool find.

It hung on a MA Deuce........50 cal. Machinegun.....
