I understand that an FA-10 form needs to be filled out on all guns purchased/transfered in MA (even C&R guns)[crying]. But if the gun is not MA compliant, and is coming from out of state, should something be written on the FA-10 so there are no questions/red flags about the purchase/registration? Should one put their C&R license number at the top??? How does the state know that one has a C&R license and that the purchase/registration is legal?

You don't put anything about your C&R on an FA-10. The state doesn't care, and doesn't even officially much recognize C&R licenses. You just check the 'registration' box at the top, and don't fill out the 'seller' part of the FA-10. That's it. Don't put your C&R license number at the top, put your LTC/FID license number.

And remember, MA compliant/not-compliant is ONLY for what MA dealers can sell. It doesn't apply in any way to what you can own.
