Dad called me about this topic this morning. Checked the Indiana gGov website sure enough. In first reading at the time. But basically says that in order to purchase a firearm you must go through a state police training course to purchase or sell any firearm in Indiana. Police, miliatry and the othe usual suspects are exempt from this rule.

I imagine in a place like that it will just die in committee. That said, whoever came up with it should be removed from office.

I think this shows that a lot of the gun control is targeted at the poor and minorities. Now I'm not saying that is the only reason, but financial means seems to be a factor. Think about banning "Saturday Night Specials", not all of them were unsafe, just easier to buy on a budget. Then consider rising application fees, fingerprinting fees, training fees, and then having to repeat that process for each state. You know this State Police course will be expensive. When I was applying for my LTC, I was told the only chance to get the ALP was to take it from the local PD. Of coarse it was twice the money, half the time, and involved me shooting 6 bullets. I am thankful that I can afford it, but it is wrong to deny someone their second ammendment rights because they can't spend the $1000 - $1500 to start up the whole thing.
