Added a M17 bayonet. These things are hard to find for a reasonable price. Saw two pair at the last gun shows for $300 with scabbard. This is not the greatest one, but OK for $65 shipped. Came all one color - rust brown, but intact with working release. An hour with PB blaster, a Scotch-Brite pad, and a brass brush found the finish underneath. I removed the screws and retainers but the grips would not budge, so I let them be and added a little BLO.

Now to find a scabbard. The last three on eBay went upwards of $100. I've found a repro for $30, but would rather wait for a tired original one.

Is the 22/U.S./Eagle an inspection mark? And the "X"?

Indoor pics. We're snowing again here, and the blizzard killed my snow blower...

Got a scabbard to go with it. With originals scabbards going for more than I paid for the bayonet, and not wanting a reproduction, I found an interesting solution on eBay. For $22 I found a Remington "RE" marked British M1907 WWI scabbard that had been reworked by R.S. Ltd. in 1943 and was not subsequently reissued. Kind of a neat find.

The "RE" is hard to see; I wrote "RE" right above it with the paint program in yellow.
