Trying to recapture some of my recent sell off on the cheap. I still want to complete my "WW2" long rifle collection. I have German (of course), American, Russian, and Japanese; needing English and Italian. I sold off my gold tie tacks save one - how many tie tacks does a retired teacher need?
I have a beautiful 1844 M42 Springfield .69 smooth bore on hold with two pistols for sale to raise funds. I've been too long into the Civil War not to have one over my gun desk. I would have preferred a M61, but this one is in too good shape to pass up.
To replace my gorgeous matching 1916 Enfield SMLE and 1943 Savage No. 4, I found this bolt only matching, very well used 1916 Enfield (fate) SMLE with bayonet. Looks like the receiver was renumbered during a rebuild. Bayonet is a Wilkinson dated 2/1918. Got goodies from LT to dress it up; sling, frog, universal muzzle cover, and butt kit. This in no way holds a candle to either of the ones I had, but it looks like a survivor. Bore is OK - was told it is a great shooter. We'll have to find out.
Looks like the rear sight is missing a screw on the left side. All I need now is a decent Carcano to finish.
