I'm trying to work up a hunting load for my son's Mosin sniper rifle and need some .312 bullets. Anyone have any in the 170-180 grain range they'd like to trade for a different diameter? I have some 150 grain that work in the 7.7 Jap and .303 British but they're too short for the Russian round.

the club i was with long ago was specifically forbidding to use SVDs to hunt to prevent forest fires - even if one was stupid enough to lug all that weight around.
but of course people did it anyway, and with mosins as well, as it was a lot of those old rifles left around. a 7.62x54 against a moose = win.
