ha! that's the same setup I've been rigging on my press...just need to order up the plastic tube. I've been testing it out by hand feeding bullets into the feed die (you can stack 9 180gr 40SW JHP inside the die body BTW) and I think I'll be saving some time once I have the tube setup. not quite as good as a full on feeder but less $$ and quieter

I'm guessing that the time that you are spending filling up the tube farrrrrrrrrrrrrrr outweighs the time that it takes to feed them by hand.

Get a few tubes and this isn't much different than filling primer tubes.

Even if you only load 50 per tube, perhaps it would go faster?

that makes the assumption that the filling of the tubes is done during the reloading session. If I have a few mins free but not enough to run a batch of ammo then I can fill a few tubes with bullets and have them ready and waiting. maybe the time isn't really "saved" but it's re-allocated so when I DO have time to run a batch of ammo it goes quicker....

Yeah, just screw it in. If you have a 550, you'll have to seat and crimp in the same die to free up a station.
