2020 US Senate race for NH Senate seat

Soon there will be two U.S. Senate GOP rivals to Shaheen

Looks like we're going to have an actual primary race here in NH for a GOP challenger to Shaheen.......

O'Brien v Bolduc

I think O'Brien puts it succinctly.....

“This race will be a great opportunity to compare proven conservatism with aspirational but untested conservatism,”

I dont think we could find a candidate that is more solid AND PROVEN on the issues than Bill O'Brien and immune to DC shenanigans

Regardless, as has been shown in the past, if a candidate cant turn out and capture a clear majority in the primary they will lose the general election.

In all fairness we've had a couple of solid primary candidates in years past but I dont think we've seen a clear run off between two candidates without a bunch of lesser candidates polluting the vote

Hopefully it will be a run off between these two and voters have a clear choice in the general election

But gunz...seems a lot of military vets now are "anti-gun" for the civilian population, so that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Douchebag vets sucking the Democrat tit are antigun.

A "lot of military vets now are antigun"? Hardly.

Hmm...
"Through the 10th amendment, individual states have the right to adopt regulations that are deemed appropriate by individual legislatures, …"

Does the 10th also allow legislatures to prohibit free speech, force home owners to feed and shelter police officers, to search homes without a warrant... [The 10th amendment must be a very powerful amendment that it trumps the other portions of the Bill of Rights

Two points:

1) There's always been ways to search a home without a warrant. Consent is the easiest example. Exigent circumstances predates the Founding.

2) Historically, yes, states could ignore the Bill of Rights because the Bill of Rights was intended to only safeguard against Federal infringement. Starting in the 20th Century, SCOTUS began "incorporating" the Bill of Rights to the states. Advocates of judicial restraint opposed incorporation because incorporation allows Federal judges to tell the states what to do, overriding the will of the state legislature and court system. The problem is people, both left and right, always use the idea of "states' rights" as a rally call whenever the Feds tell them to do something they don't like - give minorities equal rights, protect the 2A, keep pot illegal, etc. Liberals like Federal intervention when it comes to protecting the 1A, 4A, and 6A, but don't when it comes to protecting the 2A, 3A, and 10A. Conservatives are the reverse.

Sorry.....this wasnt posted to be part of current shenanigans

It was intended for people to read further down the article for OBrien/Balduc's comments

This is about electing a solid pro liberty senator to replace Shaheen.....
