SCHEDULE: Click here for the 2013 International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) match schedule for the Metro West Tactical IDPA Group at the Harvard Sportsmens Club in Harvard, MA. New shooters are encouraged to attend, just let us know you are new and we will be sure to help you out.
ADDRESS: Harvard Sportsmens Club, 250 Littleton County Rd, Harvard, MA 01451. Once past the main gate, take your first left to reach the action shooting pits.
FEE: Adults 21+ years old = $20; Juniors 12-20 years old when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian = free. Pre-Registration for club matches and classifier matches is not required. Registration usually takes place at the action pits, weather permitting. Check the post for each match for the location of registration - it is either at the action pits or in the clubhouse.
TIME: Registration starts at 9:00 am; mandatory shooters safety briefing at 9:45 am; first shots at 10:00 am. End time will depend on turnout, usually sometime between 2:00pm to 3:00pm.
EQUIPMENT: Pistol (9mm - .45 cal) or Revolver (.38 - .45 cal) with a strong side holster; at least three loading devices; belt carrier for loading devices is preferred but you could load out of pockets; hand held flashlight; eye and ear protection. Most IDPA stages require that your firearm and ammunition carriers be concealed, so bring some type of garment to cover your gear. ROUND COUNT: We shoot six stages and the maximum number of shots per string in IDPA is 18. Usually each stage has one string, but could have more. Many stages will have slightly lower round counts. Bring 150-200 rounds to be on the safe side - minimum round count for each match will vary. Not all matches will have an indoor low light stage, but most do.
FOOD: There is usually a food vendor available to purchase lunch, check the post for each individual match.
IDPA MEMBERSHIP: IDPA rules allow people to shoot one match before joining IDPA, after that you must have a current membership number to shoot. In order to become classified you must have a current IDPA number. Click here for a link to IDPA's website for information about joining online.
