2008 Maine/NH Moose Hunt Never too early to think about Moose Hunting.
Anyone up for getting in a Hunting Party for Moose?
Here the way it works.
Everyone who signs up must enter the Lottery for the 2008 Moose hunt. Maine or NH
If you win a hunting tag. The rest of the people in the group are the Bwanna's and go on the hunt to help.
In Maine only the Permitee and the Subpermitee can shoot the Moose. However. Helpers can help. Help can come many ways. from scouting and shooting Partridge and catching fish for the Camp cook to dragging the Moose out of the woods with ATV etc.. skinning, butchering, Videos, etc...
We share the Meat with whoever is on the hunt. : What does one do with 600 pounds of Moose meat?
Its possible that multiple people may get permits in different zones at different time and

This is what you need to do to get into the MOOSE Safari:
1) BUY SOME Maine MOOSE Lottery Tickets
2) In Maine there is a section on the application for a Subpermitee and and Alternate Subpermette. If you want to fill in someone elese name be sure they can and want to go on the Moose hunt! Just getting picked is like wilnning the lottery. Last year Fish & Game Auctioned off two Moose permits for over $10,000. each! Dont waste it!
3) If you get Picked! Congratulations! E mail/Call everyone and let them know. We can start making plans for the trip. Cabins or Campsites need to be booked, Butcher Shops need to be reserved, Vacation time needs to be scheduled. etc.etc... It usually takes 2 to 3 months lead time. The Moose hunting Seasons late One week at a time. When you invest this much into a hunting trip you want to take advantage of every minute.
If You have never gone hunting you will need to take a Hunting Safety course prior to getting a license. Do that NOW!
