1st time deer hunting

Today was my 1st time in the woods looking for the deer.
I got to my spot just before 5am, sat down and waited. At around 5:30am it's still dark but I see a set of green eye's moving around, I hear the branches snapping as it's moving around then it's gone. Another hunter scared it off going to his tree stand which was deeper into the woods than my spot.
Now this guy was hunting with a bow, I thought bow season ended on the 20th. Does bow season acualy stop on the 20th or does it run into shotgun season?

You can use a bow during both shotgun and black powder IIRC. If you've got a copy of the abstracts (if you're in MA), browse through and it should specify.

It just gives 2 dates for bow just like shotgun

Take a look at page 14 at the top.

"Archers may hunt with a bow and arrow during the shotgun season and muzzleloader season but must comply with the shotgun or muzzleloader season regulations"

I was out all day today, and didn't see any bowhunters. I would imagine that it was too windy.
