1989 Oshkosh M978 HEMTT 8x8 for sale. 8V92TA Detroit diesel 2-stroke engine fires right up and runs strong. Drives, steers, and brakes as it should. Includes rare factory winch. Originally a tanker truck, but the tank was removed. Truck is ready for a cargo bed, hook lift system, picker crane, you name it.
Many recent maintenance items completed. All fresh fluids, new tires, tuned up brakes, etc. As an ex-military truck, it's not perfect (fan belt squeaks for a second when cold, fuel gauge currently does not work, for example), but it is fundamentally solid.
Fun fact - this truck was heavily featured in an action film that was shot this past summer and now in post-production. I can show footage from the film to interested buyers.
For better of worse, this truck turns more heads than anything else on the road. No CDL required to drive. Registers as an antique vehicle. Clean title in hand.
