I recently refinished a 1937 Izhevsk Mosin Nagant M 91/30 “Sporterized” 7.62 x 54 R.
All metal including the barrel (excluding rear sights & trigger) were sand blasted with a glass bead finish. This brought it back to it's original state. Then it was sanded, washed and a clear lacquer finish was applied. The stock was sanded and finished with Tung oil.
It is a shooter!!!
