Your New Knife!

Personally not a fan of flippers, they just open awkward for me. I've gotten so even with a regular non assisted opener, I can get the blade to pop open with my thumb, plus that leaves my hand in position to use the knife without adjusting my hand.

The front flipper above might be a different story - looks cool.

Helping my parents move I found my grandfather's old skinnin' blade, gonna have a guy clean'r up for me. unfortunately the sheath is probably a full loss, awfully musty and nasty

What a great find and an awesome little knife. Most new hunters think that they need a big “Rambo knife” to dress their deer and they couldn’t be more wrong.

The Schrade Old Timer (sharp finger) was/is a very popular knife that has been around for years and has dressed a lot of deer in the hand of many experienced hunters. I know that mine has. A sheath should be easy enough to come by.

I hope that your knife has many more deer to dress in the future in the hands of his grandson.

So my father had a very similar knife, different handle. Took it hunting years ago and came back with just the sheath, looked for hours upon hours but couldn't find the blade. I still have the sheath, let me know if you can't clean that up.
*edit* just looked and it is a bit different.

If you’d really like to get it cleaned up try Arrow Leather. They specialize is leather restoration.

No guarantee that can do it but I’ve used them before for leather and they were great, and you can get a human on the phone pretty quickly there too that should answer your questions.

Pretty excited about this knife. New EDC workhorse. It’s a Smooth Criminal by Medford Knife & Tool. It’s has incredibly smooth action and fits my hand perfectly. Exceptional quality.
