Your New Knife!

enbloc, these knife posts prompted me to sell off some of my knives. I’ve often pondered it but these got me off my ass. GEC knives are hot right now and I have some of those. I put one on the bay and already it’s climbing up past what I paid 10 years ago. I’ll have spare cash to buy guns and ammo now that there isn’t any to buy😵.

Good for you! A knife collection is a living, breathing thing that needs a little exercise from time to time.

Better for someone else to enjoy instead of collecting dust.
Agreed. Some knives that are rare/highly collectable/ sentimental/ or are just something special to you are Forever Knives...

Just picked this up in an antique shop. Not an antique but for a dollar? I couldn’t pass up a Victorinox. It was never used and with the Alox scales, an indestructible little knife. Super thin.
Then there is always the TSA Knife Auctions...

That’s crazy! Are the auctions on eBay? You would think that they would allow the little Victorinox keychain knives. I remember flying with a Buck 110 on my belt and smoking cigarettes on the plane.

The auctions are held periodically and I'm sure that some of them are culled and wind up on Ebay, but the auctions themselves are not done on Ebay...

My SAK-1 just came in and it is very nice! Very happy with it and Swiss Knife Co.

It's funny. I've had SAKs with the CAB (Cellulose Acetate Butyrate) scales, but the ALOX scales (aluminum oxide) really make it feel like a much different, and better-made knife.

The mini champ just came in. Check out knifecenter. I just ordered the Pioneer X for 44.99 plus shipping. They had it in red. I was originally going to either get the silver or spend the extra money,$70.00 on eBay and someone told me about knifecenter.

Two new ones today. I can’t believe I paid $20 for this Boker. 1988 date, and they are still made today, but no date on the etch. I’m loving the old Imperial. Late 40’s or 50’s vintage. A cheaper knife back in the day as the shield was crimped onto the scales. Probably made right before they started using stamped metal handles.

Just found this on Bladeforums. 1936-1952 with the tang stamp. 9D71C4FE-11E8-4D86-A57F-DFFEE8CD97FC.jpeg

I'm very familiar with the Imperial <crown> 56-88 tang stamp. Had no Idea they had a dozen or so total... Thanks!

They bought the rights to the Hammer Brand trademark after New York Knife Co. closed. Early New York Knife Co knives are highly collectible as they are one of the highest quality knives made.

Inherited these last week.
Ka-bar 2752 - based on condition, carried regularly, but never used.
Case 6265 SAB - doesn’t really appear to have been used.
Buck 315 Yachtsman - looks heavily used. Blade has been ground down and refinished, but still pretty cool.

Love the Marlin-spike on the Yachtsman. and boot carried a KA-bar for most of the 1980's... seized by Lowell police, no charges filed, told to "Get lost..."
